These slender, deep green pods are snappy and delicious. Eaten raw, they have a sweet, fibrous crunch and a grassy flavour. Once cooked they are exceptionally tender and enticing. They are best steamed, sautéed, roasted as a side dish, or cooked in a stir fry. Green beans pair well chicken, shrimp, beef, pork, and ingredients like butter, parsley, dill, garlic or shallots.
Store them unwashed in a plastic bag or sealed container in the refrigerator.
